Like many other sites CVNEWCOMERS needs to place a cookie on your PC.
Their are a number of reasons that prevents people from signing in, most of them are related to the use of cookies and/or firewall settings.
A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier, that is sent to your browser from a web site's computers and stored on your computer's hard drive.
A firewall is often a seperate program like Norton Internet, McAffee or ZoneAlarm, which can block cookies or running animation or scripts.
In all cases try to refresh/reload the banner/menu bar area first:
Don't try the refresh/reload
button of the browser menu, but move your mouse pointer within the banner area
(top of window),
right-click your mouse and choose refresh/reload from the "pop-up" menu.
This should only refresh the upper part (frame) of your window. The menu-bar
should reappear with your userid on the right.
Forgot password or userid
If you forgot your password or userid then use the "Password?" option
in the login bar. This will first send a validation e-mail to check the
identity.
The e-mail message contains a validation link, pressing the link will
send a second message with userid and temporary password.
Login Screen doesn't show up.
This can be a browser problem (see Login Screen can be accessed but no
reply), but most likely this will be a firewall setting. Test this by
temporarily
disabling your firewall. Mind you that most of the times a firewall is
a separte program, however some browsers or routers (like a cable router
or
a wireless router) have a build-in firewall. Most firewalls can be set
to accept scripting, cookies, etc. from certain trusted sites. Please
consult
the manual of the firewall.
