A coffee morning was held at the Oak Park community hall to encourage new membership. Club members introduced newcomers to the various activities offered by the Conejo Valley Newcomers Club.

Sunday march the 13th was our first wine tasting new style.
Our hosts were Becky and Jeff who provided the perfect ambiance for this first of tastings. About 20 aficionados enjoyed the wines accompanied by a delicious selection of hors-doeuvres and deserts provided by our participants.

I'd like to invite everyone to join us at Let's Just Play every month. It's a simple, fun way to spend a couple of hours. In July, we put together "craft bags" that contained a variety of items (styrofoam balls, popscicle sticks, paint, foam pellets, etc.). Guests were divided up into teams and were told to create something from the items in the bag. Prizes were awarded for the most beautiful and the most creative "sculptures". I was amazed by the creativity. Afterwards, we taught everyone a fabulous card trick.
In August, in honor of the Olympics, we organized relay races. Members were divided up into teams and were given a variety of tasks to complete. Adding to the difficulty, members were required to run the race with cups of popcorn tied to their feet. After the "awards ceremony", we played a "Lets Get Acquainted" Game. Each person was instructed to write down three facts about themselves. Two were true and one was false. Then we had to guess which fact was false. Some of our members have led very interesting lives!
